Inside Sales Representative

West Canadian Digital Imaging Inc. was founded in 1952 as a traditional microfilm and reprographic service provider. Over the years, we have built on these services and have established one of the premier independent digital printing, graphic design, microfilming, document management, and digital imaging operations in Canada. We are currently seeking an Inside Sales Representative to join our West Canadian Sales team. This skilled individual must be a quick learner, have a positive attitude, and able to work both independently as well as within a team environment.

Responsibilities Will Include

- Facilitate the complete sales cycle for incoming sales requests.
- Identify and develop opportunities in existing accounts
- Assist in all facets of preparation of work orders, including RFP and RFQ responses.
- Identify customer needs and provide effective solutions
- Build strong customer relationships to ensure repeat business

West Canadian Digital Imaging is looking for an operator for our HP Indigo 5500 Digital Press.

Our ideal candidate must have the following skills:

  • Previous experience working on an offset printing press
  • Excellent attention to detail and an eye for quality
  • Strong basic computer skills
  • Excellent ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of colour (CMYK vs RGB vs Indichrome vs PMS...)
  • Superior mechanical aptitude

Other skills we would consider an asset for this position include:

  • Experience on a digital press such as an HP Indigo, Kodak NexPress or Xerox iGen

Senior Systems Analyst

The Senior Systems Analyst's role is to plan, direct and coordinate the design, installation, and connectivity of computer and network systems to ensure the stable operation of West Canadian technology assets. This includes developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all new and existing network hardware, software, and communication links. The Senior Systems Analyst will also direct the activities of a team of technology specialists to resolve end user hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning
- Assist in the design and implementation of short- and long-term strategic plans to make certain network capacity meets existing and future requirements.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network resource administration and appropriate use.
- Assist in the development and deployment of methodologies for testing network performance and providing network performance statistics and reports.
- Establish best practices and policies for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation.
- Assist in developing service level agreements (SLA's) with end users.
- Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues.
- Ensure compatibility and interoperability of all West Canadian in-house computing systems.
- Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.

Acquisition & Deployment

- Recommend and coordinate installation of in-house and remote hardware and software across the West Canadian network.
- Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
- Work with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.
- Assess, recommend, and administer all equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.

Operational Management

- Manage and ensure effectiveness of servers, including e-mail, print, and backup servers, and their associated operating systems and software.
- Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, UPSs, etc.
- Manage and ensure effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.
- Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the Director, Information Technology, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent network activities.
- Approve and administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Direct a contingent of systems analysts.
- Provide guidance to junior members of the technology team.

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification
- Four-year university degree or college diploma in the field of computer science and/or 7 - 10 years equivalent work experience.

Knowledge & Experience

- 5+ years experience managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs, etc.
- Exceptional technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems and applications, such as. Citrix, VMware, Windows Server and desktop.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, bridges, firewalls, switches, hubs, modems, network interface cards, etc. Experience with Cisco & Juniper technology a plus.
- Experience with programming languages such as C++ and other .net, Java and other web languages.
- Extensive application support experience. Captiva and Alfresco experience a plus.
- Knowledge and understanding of system flow charts, data processing concepts, and telecommunications principles.
- Experience installing network cabling and patching telephony systems.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

Fleet Coordinator

West Canadian is now accepting applications for the position of Fleet Coordinator. Candidates will have outstanding communication, organization and multitasking skills and will have the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Strong customer service skills are required as well as experience in the following area:


- Experience with print equipment such as multi functional devices, color or black and white printers, plotters and will also have working knowledge with scanners.
- Limited Network experience working and managing network printer queues, scanning software, print drivers, etc.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat

The Successful candidate will be responsible to assist and plan strategic fleet moves, provide customer support on the operation of print equipment, assist in first level service support, provide end users with necessary supplies for the operation of all equipment, report on a monthly basis on fleet activity, ensure communication materials are updated and accurate.
